NEW 475bhp Range Rover Restomod! FIRST DRIVE Review! 13 Jun 2021
I had the joy of test driving the Bishops Heritage by Bamford Range Rover Restomod - a 470bhp V8 LS3 Range Rover with the added charm of Bamford’s unique interior design.
When I first came across this car on Instagram, I knew that I would absolutely love to see it in real life. So I am thrilled to be able to take a look at this stunning car up close, and share it with you.
This is the product of an interesting collaboration between Bishops, who specialise in the restoration and augmentation of 4x4s, and Bamford Watch Department, who have put their custom fit and features on this car. Overall, only 10 of this specific model will be made in total, which makes it a truly unique and beautiful project. As a bonus, with every edition of the car comes a beautifully matched Bamford watch.
Showcasing a huge amount of work on the exterior and engine of this car, all of the upgrades have truly been a game changer on how this car will drive. The original car would have had 180hp, which now sits around 470hp after the addition of a V8 LS3 engine. But this car isn’t just about having more power, it has been designed to be lived with and used on a daily basis.
As beautiful as this car is on the exterior, for me the magic really happens inside the car. The whole interior hosts a subtle theme running throughout; a nod to British sports cars of the 60s. New seats have transformed the character of the whole car, and small elements have been detailed in the trademark Bamford blue, providing a true luxury, upgraded experience, which still retains its authentic character.
Taking the car out onto the road, it handles with entirely revised suspension and brakes. It’s the kind of car that turns heads for the right reason, as it fits in with quintessential British village.
