The Most Expensive NEW Car In The World – the £20 Million Rolls Royce 26 May 2021
This week we’re taking a look at the new Rolls Royce Boat Tail - a truly bespoke, coach build Rolls Royce, rumoured to be valued at £20 million, making it the most expensive new car in the world!
Based on a true commission model, the ‘Boat Tail’ represents a collaborative exploration of luxury, design and culture between the marque and commissioning clients. The conclusion of four years of work, this car really is a sight to behold.
The first thing that struck me about this car is its size; sitting at 5.7 meters long, it really is enormous! The car has been hand formed from sheet aluminium, giving smooth precision on across the whole surface. Under the hood, the car incorporates the V12 engine from the current Phantom 8 platform, and this is the only ingredient that remains unchanged.
Using the 'architecture of luxury' as a chassis platform, Rolls Royce once again redefine luxury motoring with the Boat Tail. The ingenuity, fascination and engineering for this car has been informed by the notion of hosting, and the rear picnic area gives a nod back to the personality of the client, with every section of the car being truly bespoke to their needs. Everything in this exquisite dining set has been high speed tested, to ensure that it is safe to travel.
Looking to the interior, the soft blue tones give off a reduced and pared back feeling, where the materials are left to do the talking. As a centrepiece, a bespoke timepiece has been created in collaboration with Bovet, allowing the client to bring together his two passions in this one car.
There will only be three of these cars produced, however the only similarities between each will be the body style. All other features, including colours and detailing, will vary considerably from one car to the next, allowing each client to tailor to their own needs.
As a significant car to add to the legacy of the brand, this truly will be a beautiful thing to use.
