My First Time Driving A Ferrari ENZO - the £2m V12 Hypercar! 21 Jun 2021
Debuting in 2002, this week was my first ever time driving a Ferrari Enzo! With only 399 of them ever made, these are of the most iconic Ferrari’s ever made, named after the founding father Enzo Ferrari himself.
Taking this car out is where my childhood dreams manifest into reality! The Enzo was launched in 2002, and I was learning to drive in 2004. So my teenage dreams of cars incorporated these beauties, with their angular design and radical styling. In creating this Ferrari drive series, I want to share with you the types of things you can’t learn from Google; what the car feels like, what it sounds like, what it’s like to drive on the road.
The 6.0L V12 develops 650bhp and can propel the supercar from 0-60 in just 3.0 seconds. And it’s the aerodynamics that make this car so stable, being able to handle high speeds and reach up to 211mph.
The biggest difference between this and driving the F50 is the throttle response. In the Enzo, the power available is immediate and phenomenal in this semi-automated manual. Featuring light weight steering and 6-speed single clutch manual transmission gearbox, it sounds absolutely fabulous.
I can see why in 2002, when it launched it was mind blowing for people to get their hands behind the wheel of these cars.
