I Can't Believe It Ended Like This... 4 Aug 2021

Well what can I say about this Race Day. It was a wet start and anticipation was in the air at Silverstone. The test day was glorious weather, and typically it was chucking it down on race day. 

We got the car prepped for qualifying, where I was first up. Conditions were less than ideal and coming into the first corner was sticky. We started 1 second off pole position, but the wet set-up was outstanding. The grip was near identical to the dry set-up.  

Praga had a great season with 9 cars on the grid this year, and it was great getting together with the other drivers before the next race. It was our first Enduro race, and after a fuel dump, I was taking the reins for the latter half of the race. Nerve-wracking, but so exciting.  

During the race, Miles was rapidly closing the gap on first and second, and it was my turn to take to the track; the relay of all relays. The road was slick as I pulled off, we were in it for first place and I was more than a little nervous.  

After a less-than-ideal bump start to the race, I took off with optimism, buoyed by our strong position. The starter motor issue cost us 40 seconds, but the gearbox failed terminally, putting us out of the race with a DNF. It was an unfortunate end to a strong start, but I am absolutely gutted to have ended it where we did. Hopefully next time we can get the finish we deserve and showcase a comeback video.
