Rolls Royce Ghost 2022 - The Final Chapter? 10 Aug 2021

The Rolls Royce Ghost is a giant of classic cars. Driving one is an all-encompassing experience, even before you’ve started the engine.

I wanted to experience the new 2022 Rolls Royce both in the city and out at the Bunker in Bicester. Potentially, it’s going to be the last Rolls Royce, as we know it, on the roads. Read on, and I’ll explain why.

As we move to greener electric cars, the Rolls Royce spec encompasses factors that are incompatible with electric vehicles. That’s not to say it’s not harnessing the latest technology, the flagbearer system in the new Ghost uses a combination of GPS positioning and cameras to read the road surface ahead and appropriately select the gear and suspension settings to best suit the surface you’re driving on.

Under the hood, the most significant element is the fact that this could be the final V12; all 6.75 litres of its capacity will become an EV in the Ghost’s next incarnation. One thing’s for certain though, a greener Ghost won’t sacrifice the opulence we know and love.

Sticking to tradition though, the seamless drive of the 2022 Ghost remains. Whether navigating the tight parameters of central London or open country roads, the Ghost seamlessly irons out bumps and slows down the passing world, creating a truly relaxing and luxurious driving experience. Right down to the autonomous closing doors, the new Ghost embodies elegant minimalism and simple solutions to make life easier.

Profoundly - this may just be the last V12 powered Ghost ever, this is something to celebrate, enjoy and behold as one of the great wonders of the luxury automotive space.
